Diego Gonzalez, MD, DABA, DABPM, MBA
Board Certified Pain Management & Anesthesia
Dr. Gonzalez is Board Certified in Pain Management and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Management. He is also Board Certified in Anesthesia and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesia. Dr Gonzalez attended medical school in Costa Rica at the Universidad Autonoma de Centro America, He completed his training and residency at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr Gonzalez has been practicing Pain Management and Anesthesia services since 2004. Dr Gonzalez and his family have lived in Albuquerque since 2004.
Maria De Jesus, MD
Board Certified Neurologist
Dr. De Jesus brings 34 years of neurology experience to our group, and she is looking forward to beginning this new chapter in her healthcare career as well as the opportunity to help treat a variety of brain injuries.
Throughout her academic, as well as professional career, Dr. De Jesus has received multiple awards and certifications. She was a recipient of the American Neurological Association Residency Scholarship Award during her time at New York Medical College. She is medical board licensed in three states and has received certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Neurological Association, the American Medical Association, and lastly, the American Physical Therapy Association.
Rebekah Khan, Ph.D., CMHFE
Board Certified Forensic Evaluator and Functional Neurology Scholar
Dr. Khan holds a PhD in Forensic Psychology, complemented by dual Master’s degrees in Positive Psychology and Forensic Psychology. With a strong foundation in neuroscience, Dr. Khan has completed postdoctoral studies and research in Functional Neurology, alongside three years of doctoral education focused on brain and spine anatomy.
With 12 years of experience specializing in autism and concussion, Dr. Khan has developed a comprehensive understanding of neurodevelopmental and neurotraumatic conditions, enhancing the effectiveness of psychological assessments and interventions in these areas. As a QEEG Diplomate Candidate and a background in event related potential testing, Dr. Khan specializes in electroencephalography, which aids in understanding the neurophysiological factors influencing psychological assessments and behaviors. Furthermore, Dr. Khan is a Board-Certified Forensic Evaluator, bringing extensive expertise in conducting forensic evaluations and providing expert testimony in legal contexts. In New Mexico Dr. Khan is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
This robust combination of education, specialized training, and extensive experience equips Dr. Khan with a unique perspective on the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and the law, making a significant contribution to forensic assessments and consultations.
Lori Miller, Ph.D., LPCC
Clinical Supervisor & PTSD Therapist
Dr Miller is a Clinical Mental Health counselor (LPCC) she spent years in the public school system as a level three k-12 School counseling and Administrator (School Principal) . She received her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of New Mexico and Master of Arts Counseling from Webster University. In addition, she has a master’s degree in human resource training and development from Idaho State University.
Dr. Miller has over twenty years of experience of working with adults and adolescents, her specialty is trauma counseling. She is trained in EMDR and has a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 (CCTP-II).
Ken Gilman, PhD
Dr. Gilman our clinical director is a New Mexican native but is a well-traveled with experience in evaluation, diagnostics and treatment from the East Coast to the West Coast and Europe. Dr. Gilman received his BS, MS in Educational Psychology and PhD in Counseling Psychology from A&M University in Texas. Dr. Gilman has well over thirty years of service as director, therapist, evaluator, professor of psychology and in supervision. He currently serves on the Board of Psychology, is an active member of the Rotary Club of New Mexico and lends his musical ability as a mandolin player all over Albuquerque in his free time
Becky Gonzalez, FNP
Nurse Practitioner
Becky is a board certified Nurse Practioner in family medicine with 12 years experience in emergency medicine.
She is trauma and rescue trained with ACLS and PALS and is both a flight nurse and nurse educator. She is highly skilled in treating both adults and pediatrics.
With her experience as CEO and CFO at Rio Grande Urgent Care, Becky brings tremendous value to the Advanced Pain and Neurology team. You can find Becky at our Albuquerque location.
Courtney Carabajal, FNP
Nurse Practitioner
Courtney is a board certified Nurse Pactioner in family medicine. She has more than 15 years experience in emergency medicine, ICU, and rural medicine.
She graduated from George Washington University with a master’s degree in the science of nursing/family practitioner program.
With her ongoing experience at several of the hospital emergency rooms, Courtney brings tremendous value to the Advanced Pain and Neurology team. You can find Courtney at our Albuquerque location.
